Gurmeet Kaur / Head of Investment Advisory
Gurmeet has been working in the impact investing space for over 15 years and brings expertise in building and managing impact investment portfolios. Gurmeet set up and ran the first impact investment portfolio at the UK’s Development Finance Institution (now British International Investment) in 2012 when the impact investing industry was in its early days. Since then, she has worked with a range of private asset owners including family foundations, corporates and impact investment funds on supporting them with making impact-first investments with a global focus. She brings a strong understanding of private market investing with a focus on the UK and emerging markets. Most recently, Gurmeet was leading the impact investing advisory work at New Philanthropy capital where she supported a range of clients including banks, foundations and charities on impact measurement as well as investment strategy development.
Prior to her transition to investing, Gurmeet worked at the leading private philanthropies (CIFF and MSDF) and led their grant making in global health and education respectively. She worked with American Express in India and the US at the start of her career. Gurmeet has an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, a Masters degree in Psychology and a degree in Economics from Delhi University.
